While participating in the protest held today in Kovilpatti against the Central Government…
Due to flawed policies, the country is facing a severe shortage of LPG cylinders, causing immense hardship to the people. The root causes are the BJP government’s misguided policy decisions and subservience to external interests.
To condemn this, a massive protest was organized by the Secular Progressive Alliance, including DMK, MDMK, VCK, CPI, CPI(M), Makkal Needhi Maiam, Deeya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK), and Pulipadai.
On behalf of the North District Congress, I participated along with:
Town President Shri Arun Pandian
Block President Shri Ramesh Murthy
Shri Kamaraj, Shri Raja, and Shri Rajasekar
INTUC representative Shri Sundararaja Nayakar
Shri Jayakodi, Shri Murugesan, Shri Munisamy, Shri Muthu, and many others.
Note on Current Context: The LPG shortage mentioned is part of a national crisis in early 2026 caused by geopolitical conflicts in West Asia affecting the Strait of Hormuz, which is the primary route for India’s cooking gas imports.
